CREATIVE CHEMISTRY 101 – Mixing Oil & Water

For day 3 of Creative Chemistry 101 Tim introduced us to how to properly use alcohol inks and how we can use both water based and oil based inks together.  I loved this technique and can’t wait to explore it more.  For this to work, you need to use a glossy card stock.  You stamp and dry the oil based images first; Since I didn’t have any colored Archival Inks I used the only two colored Versafine inks that I own.  Once those images dried, I went in all over the card stock with my water based distress ink and then took a paper towel to wipe any extra ink off.  The alcohol technique shown in the right hand image I still need to work on, I think I tend to add too many inks which makes it mottled.  Practice, practice!
